What can I do?
Do I have to retrieve full text?
Can I?

Richard, I seem to recall that you need to be on-line to do any
searches. SM will not just search the local files.
This has been the situation since the dim dark days of Netscape
suite!
Thanks for _attempting_ to answer.
Once again Murphy's Law proves to be *supreme* ;/
I thought I recalled having been online, so I experimented.
I searched for THIS thread while online - got the error message.
Went offline and searched again - *SUCCESS* ;]
Repeated experiment with original target group {ie using
DIFFERENT server] with same result.
Should a bug report be filed for erroneous error message?
against what?
P.S. i use SM because Netscape 4-point-whatever left M$ in dust ;/
