I want me date to say the actual date but it is giving me the time instead.
How can I fix this?
This page should help
<http://seamonkey.ilias.ca/mailnewsfaq/DateTimeDisplay>.
I always find it a pity that there are useful preferences that are not
in the listing you get with about:config.
I can understand why there is no UI for all preferences, but I don't see
a need to hide preferences from about:config.
I searched for this answer some time ago, in the days where there by
default were 3 formats for the date/time. Messages in the past week
but not today would be listed as "Fr 09:13" for example. People found
this confusing and wanted it changed ti "date time".
In the meantime that change was already incorporated in the release,
but it would have been very helpful when the preferences used for
this purpose (like mail.ui.display.dateformat.thisweek) were listed
instead of hidden. I certainly would have found them that way.
how does one un-hide those preferences?
One cannot. That is my gripe.
You have to find them elsewhere on the net (like here or via google)
and then manually add them in the prefs.js or the about:config screen,
and then they suddenly spring to life.
One place for a list of config entries ...
