Hmmm. In Eudora Lite 3.0.6 (released about 16 years ago), you can have
an address book entry with a nickname for a real E-mail address. Then,
you can add another entry with a nickname but for an existing different
nickname.
For example, my Eudora address book has the following:
Allen @ Yahoo => Allen <[email protected]>
Allen and Christi => Allen @ Yahoo, christi @ home
christi @ home => Christi <[email protected]>
where the terms before the => are nicknames and the terms after the =>
are either other nicknames or actual E-mail addresses (with the
local-part of each address munged. Note that the second entry refers
both to preceding and following entries. Also note that @ is an allowed
character within a nickname.
Is this not a capability of Thunderbird and SeaMonkey's mail-news
component?
