The Mozilla-based E-mail capabilities in SeaMonkey and Thunderbird are
NOT compatible with the brand-name PGP application. They might be
compatible with Gnu Privacy Guard (GPG), which is also an OpenPGP
application.
The problem is that the mail-news components alter outgoing messages
when the Send button is selected and alter incoming messages. These
alterations prevent decryption. They also invalidate OpenPGP digital
signatures.

SeaMonkey is compatible with Enigmail/OpenPGP, as far as I know. I used
Verisign digital IDs for many years. That was wonderfully seamless.
