Help --

I just had a major PC problem and can't use that PC until it gets sorted
out. Fortunately, I have copies of the SeaMonkey 'Inbox' and 'Sent'
files from the day prior on a CD-R.

How do I add these saved 'Inbox' and 'Sent' files to a different PC,
also running SeaMonkey, so that I can combine what I saved with Mail
files on this second PC?

Both machines are all but identical Wintel PCs running XP. The saved
mail files are from SeaMonkey v.2.22 and the PC I want to add them to
has SeaMonkey v.2.21 on it. Would this difference in SeaMonkey versions
make any difference?

I had thought I could just rename the saved mail files as 'Inbox1' and
'Sent1' and simply paste them into mail file folder on the working PC
adjacent to the existing 'Inbox' and 'Sent' files already existing on
the working PC. Then I could just copy the 'Inbox1' and 'Sent1' files
into the 'Inbox' and 'Sent' files of the working PC. Would that work or
are things more complicated these days?

Thanks, in advance, for any and all assistance.

Just as well I kept reading, Henrik, as I was going to tell you to rename the file, but you are already aware of this.

Only point I think I'd make would be that, sometimes, when files are copied back from a CD, the files are marked as "Read Only" whereas SM needs to be able to write to the files as well as read them, so, in your Windows Explorer, after coping the files back into your profile at the same level as your "new" inbox and sent files, close SM, locate the copied files in your Windows Explorer, check their properties (Right click) and make sure they are not marked as "Read Only". This might require Windows Admin authority.
