Perhaps it's just you. I recently downloaded some extensions via
SeaMonkey with no problems.

I go to <https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/fontinfo/>,
but I get redirected to
<https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fontinfo/>. There, the
Download Now button is gray and not a link. Since it is not a link, I
cannot download the .xpi file. This happens whether or not I enable
"Advertise Firefox compatibility". This does not happen if I spoof
Firefox without SeaMonkey in the UA string.

1. I right click on the gray button. And then I chose ""Save link target
as...."

OR

2. I click on the gray button. I get a popup which says:

------------------------------------------
To install this add-on and thousands more,
get Firefox, a free and open web browser
from Mozilla.

Learn more about Firefox

or _download anyway_
------------------------------------------
I right click on the "download anyway" link and select "Save link target
as...."

On the other hand, I go to
<https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/222517/> and get the
SeaMonkey page. I see "Not available for SeaMonkey 2.22.1". The
Download Now button is gray, but it is indeed a link from which I can
download the .xpi file.

Desiree should check the URI in the SeaMonkey address area (URI bar) to
see if it cites "seamonkey" or "firefox".

The area that lists the versions gives more information about what application can use the add-on. Unfortunately, if you try downloading from that area, it will not work if you are using the wrong version, the wrong platform, or the wrong application. I have had to fake my user-agent to get that to work. Of course, first you have to get User Agent Switcher, and you have to bump up the max version in the installer's install.rdf file to get that to install.
