I have an old windows XP pc and the installed SM is at version 2.8.

Can i pass in one step to 2.24 ?

(by, saving the profile, de-installing 2.8 and installing 2.24)

You can upgrade in-place from 2.8 directly to 2.24 without uninstalling. Just "Check for Updates" from within the application
itself and have at it. Always good to do a backup beforehand, though.

"Version Numbers" always annoy me when 2.24 is greater than 2.80 !-)

Agreed. If the minor version number is going to be allowed to extend to multiple places, it needs to express them from the outset: 2.09, 2.10, 2.11.

and not 2.9, 2.10, 2.11.
Because when you sort the list show in ascending order 2.10, 2.11,2.9 .... telling us that the 2.9 version is grater than the 2.10 version.
