One problem is that different Web pages have different font
specifications. As I browse, I find some pages have microscopic fonts
and others have fonts I can read across the room.

I set the default for both proportional and monospace at 15 px and the
minimum at 10 px. I did this by going to [Edit > Preferences >
Appearance > Fonts].

Having already installed the PrefBar extension, I enabled the Font- and
Font+ buttons to zoom individual pages. These are inherent in the basic
PrefBar. In case I forgot how far I zoomed, I also downloaded and
enabled the Font= button from
<http://prefbar.tuxfamily.org/buttons.html#fontreset>.

On occasion, I filter and ignore all newsgroup messages
