SM 2.26 in a Vista system.

I've been looking for a vault to keep credit card data in, and a bit more control over passwords. There are sites, such as my bank, where I never write the password as a security measure, but most sites I allow SeaMonkey to remember the passwords; I got upset with AT&T as they have some code on their site that precludes SeaMonkey from remembering the password, so every month when I get my bill, I have to look up the password to get into their site and check the bill. I was really peeved this month as a cookie problem precluded me from logging into their site for a few days, so after solving the cookie crumble, I went looking for something that would solve both problems.

I found LastPass in the listing of extensions (I think) and it sounded like the stone I could kill two geese with. You can put, in an encrypted environment, your credit card data in and not have to dig out the card each time you buy something, and you can decide whether or not a password and user name you use will be memorized. I installed it, went to the AT&T site, and it worked flawlessly. I was happy as a clam. But then I went to check my email, and SeaMonkey wanted my password (when you install LastPass, it imports your password data, then asks if you want to remove it from the unprotected area in SeaMonkey; I said yes, I should have said no. Any way, each time I go to read from an email or newsgroup server, I have to put in a password, and LastPass seems to offer no way to memorize these.

Does anyone have experience with this extension, and some hints on how to improve it's performance?
