As I indicated earlier - it USED to close only the open message windows (or 
type of window that you're in) - somewhat the same way option-close in a mac 
finder will close all open finder windows.

Which brings me back to the original question:  is that functionality still 
there, and I just can't find it; did it go away intentionally; or is this a bug?
