Anyone know if/when SeaMonkey will have the code needed for
Ghostery to
again support it?

Ghostery says it is due to Australis that Ghostery has dropped support
for SeaMonkey and it won't be supported until the requisite code is
added. That's a little puzzling to me because both Fx 24.5 ESR and
Pale
Moon 24.6.1 just updated to Ghostery 5.3.1 and they don't have
Australis.

I suppose the earlier version of Ghostery will continue getting
updates
on SeaMonkey. However, this new version is a major one and I'd
like it
for SeaMonkey.

I find this bizarre since there is no Australis for Seamonkey. At
least not that I am aware of.

I agree. It does seem bizarre especially since Ghostery autoupdated
(even though I had auto updates turned OFF in Addons/extensions)
suddenly on both Fx 24.5 ESR and Pale Moon neither of which have
Australis or will ever have.

This is explained both in Ghostery forum and Ghostery blog. I added a
comment last Friday evening to Ghostery blog about this. It still is
waiting moderation. Odd.

SM 2.26.1 will be out next week so maybe give that version a try if
they don't push an updated version of Ghostery to fix this wonky
issue.

I posted about this in the SeaMonkey forum at dslreports.com. A
Ghostery dev posted a reply:

"Hi Mele, I'm one of Ghostery devs.

SeaMonkey support is not longer possible because Ghsotery relies on
addon-sdk and it, in turn, does not work correctly on SeaMonkey. 5.2.1
will be the last available version until such time that support for
SeaMonkey is re-added. The actual reason for this is because the
underlying API for icon placement has been re-written in addon-sdk to
support Australis, and since Ghostery relies on it, there is no simple
way to re-add it to SeaMonkey. On top of this, AMO (official mozilla
distribution store) has denied our submissions with older addon-sdk
patched to support SeaMonkey, so were out of luck for now."

Ghostery 5.2.1 no longer updates on my SeaMonkey 2.26 so I am now
without any working version (even the older one) of Ghostery on SeaMonkey.

Ghostery 5.2.1 is still working with SM 2.26 on my Macs...at least it's still flagging what it knows. I'll have to watch to see if it is still updating it's trackers list...
