After Road Runner (Time Warner Mail) recovered from a melt down I am
having a problem retrieving mail from the server. Their web mail works
fine. Seamonkey gives an error message
"The RETR command did not succeed. Error retrieving a message. Mail
server pop-server.hvc.rr.com responded: no such message."
Possibly happened because I deleted some messages from the web server
while Road Runner was having problems. I think the server and seamonkey
are out of sync. Any advice on how to solve this problem? Repair
Folder Index does not fix the problem.
Absent a solution I plan on deleting that account from seamonkey and
then restoring it. Is there anyway to save or archive the messages in
the inbox before deleting the account?
TIA,

I don't think a POP account can be "out of synch", only IMAP. If you
have already deleted via the TWC-RR web interface, the messages are gone
anyway, unless you move them from the web interface's Trash to the web
interface's Inbox, and then download via POP again.
I had problems with pop-server.hawaii.rr.com all week long and
couldn't even load the web interface. Many messages from a very sick
relative were lost and I was quite distressed for a few days until they
sent them all again.
If you want to try the whole "starting over" route, you can just create
a whole new account FIRST, with similar/same settings without deleting
anything to see if the old account truly is infected/corrupt.
