I know there are already three layouts available for SM's Mail and News
Screen (View->Layout), Classic, Wide and Vertical. However, I feel I
want a different one, sort of like Wide, but with the Threads Pane being
full screen width, rather than the Message Pane.
In the Classic View, there is often a lot of empty (white) screen at the
right of the Message Pane because the quoted text is only 50, 60 or 70
character wide and, in today's wide screen monitors there is room for,
maybe, 100-125 characters, whereas, because of the level of replies in
some threads, the Threads Pane just shows lines heading to the right or
incomplete Subjects, so, in my revised layout, I'm thinking the Threads
Pane right across the top of the M & N screen with the Accounts Pane in
bottom left and Message Pane in bottom right.
Sort of like an upside-down Wide Layout.
(This might even allow for reducing the width of the entire M & N
screen, so allowing it to be as a tab of the Browser screen, or easier
access to desktop/other programs!!)
Can anyone suggest where I look (what file) for the laying out of the
Mail & News Screen, so I can dabble a bit?? (If I get game!! :-P )
