I've noticed a peculiarity in the way the Junk folder purges old
messages, which I have set to seven days.

If the message arrives there via the JMC feature, it's purged on
schedule, but if it arrives via a filter, it sits there indefinitely. I
have several incoming mail filters that redirect messages from unwelcome
senders to the Junk folder, marking them as read and as junk. The
filters work, but Junk doesn't purge them after a week.

Anyone else notice this?

Paul, I have my SeaMonkey set up to move Junk messages straight to Trash, which then gets emptied when I close SM, so I've never noticed your problem.
