Jim, if your profile is old/ancient, how long since you have compacted
your e-mail profile??
Assuming you have a pop e-mail account ...
When you empty Trash, the e-mails are not actually deleted, they are
just marked for deletion and made to not show up in your inbox. If you
File->Empty Trash and then File->Compact Folders, all the stuff that you
thought you had deleted is actually deleted and the inbox file size can
be greatly reduced.
Just another suggestion.
