Recent changes to Toolkit's Password Manager (for SeaMonkey, implemented with 2.29) supposedly enabled the saving of passwords despite autocomplete=off per bug #956906. However, the companion changes (bug #658936 and #1025703) to fill-in passwords on login pages -- especially when the user ID and password are entered in separate pages -- was NOT implemented. Thus, passwords can be saved but not always used.
The Remember Passwords extension seemed to handle both saving and using passwords when autocomplete=off. However, that extension is apparently very incompatible with the new Password Manager. Can anyone create an extension to use saved passwords when autocomplete=off? If so, it should handle the case in bug #658936.
