http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/seamonkey2.30/ but no final
release notes yet? I hope they fixed the issues I saw in v2.29 to cause
me to go back to v2.26.1 like the address books' sorting,
place.sqlite's
history getting corrupted, etc.
Thank you in advance. :)
The addressbook is fixed, but the bookmark restore from backup is not.
Great, you get a false sense of security from having a backup, then it
tells you you have nothing.
If you make a backup will older versions retrore the backup (ie. backup
is good), or will a backup from an old version restore fine on 2.30
(restore is okay, backup is broken)?
No, it says "Unable to process" with any .json bookmark. For .jsonlz4,
the error is "Unrecognized file type" or something close to that.
Importing .html bookmarks still works. I had made a habit of backing up
bookmarks in both formats, so I have the .html to use if I need it.
Why are you using SeaMonky as a backup program? That's not what it is
good at (very apparently).
Can't you just copy places.sqlite from your system backup back into your
active profile? That would be a certain solution. At least in my case
of daily automated backups it would. And no need to depend upon the
program's (SM) backup function. I mean, I need my system to be backuped
up daily, everything, including SM's profile. So, I've always got
several days of it sitting there "just in case." Your mileage may vary
... but, then again, apparently it doesn't.

Don't tell anyone, but duct tape is The Force. It has a dark side, and a
light side, and it binds the Universe together.
