Did something just change about how Seamonkey handles automatic updates?

My installations are set to automatically check for updates, but not
download or install them.

Yet this past hour I suddenly got SM 2.31 installed, against my wishes.

Bill, did you check you settings at
....Edit->Preferences->Advanced->Software Installation??

Yes -- they're the same as before -- check for updates but don't
download or install them.

Normally that produces a weekly message reminding me that I'm headed for
hades for not using the latest version of Seamonkey. But yesterday I
came back from lunch and saw the new version installing itself at a
really awkward time for me -- I lost my calendar (Lightning) and
password manager (because I wasn't given the chance to disable Remember
Passwords), and for some reason couldn't even send emails. I reinstalled
2.26.1 and I'm OK for now. Hopefully this was just one of those flukes,
not some decision to take away our choice of whether to upgrade or not,
and when is a good time to perform upgrades (NOT in the middle of my
workday!).

Sorry to hear that!! I do, sort of, recall this "enforced upto-update" happening some time ago, but cannot be sure if it was enforced by FireFox or SeaMonkey!
