MOZILLA does not offer a secure connection to its NNTP server currently.
Ask on port 563 and you won't get an IP paket back. Try
> telnet news.mozilla.org 563
and the connection will simply timeout.

ETERNAL-SEPTEMBER can securely accessed with two easy steps:

0. Check
> telnet reader443.eternal-september.org 443
After some time you will get a "400 SSL connection failed" message.
This is a good sign because the server tried to establish a secure
connection.

1. Account
Set up a news account in Seamonkey for reader443.eternal-september.org
and port 443.

When you now try to manage your subscriptions the list of news groups is
empty.

2. Certificate
In Seamonkey open Preferences > Privacy & Security > Ceritifcates >
Manage Certificates > Servers > Add Exception. Type
https://reader443.eternal-september.org in Location. Click Get
Certificate. You will get a "Wrong Site" warning in the dialog box.
Click Confirm Security Exception and OK.

3. Registration (Not described here)

AIOE not described here.
