I often receive mail that I want to save in a separate folder. On
occasion the Subject line does not contain meaningful info. How can I
edit the subject line before saving?

Right-click the email. Choose "Edit as new". Change subject. Click the Save button. Close email. Go to Drafts folder. Drag message to the folder where you want to save it. Delete original.

Doesnot work perfectly,
- The "From:" is changed
- The date/time is changed.

My approach is to have a local folder labelled "TEST" per example.
- Delete all mail of the "TEST" folder.
- Do "Compact this folder"
- Copy your mail to this folder.
- Go with a text editor opening the C:\Users\RAZ\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\SeaMonkey\Profiles\ey7r9gln.default\Mail\Local Folders\TEST file. (RAZ is my windows account and ey7r9gln.default is my profile - Change those value according to your account name and profile id)
- Change the subject.
- Save the file.
- Then under SM copy it to the folder of your choice.
