v2.33.1 web browser in a very old, updated Windows XP Pro SP3 machine.
I had no problems in 64-bit Debian oldstable (Wheezy) though. What about

Charlotte, as others have advised, you have subscribed to the seamonkey
list, so receive a copy of every message posted to the
mozilla.support.seamonkey group/list. As I understand it, in each
message that you receive, there are instructions on how to stop this. I
think it may be as simple as replying to the list with the word
"unsubscribe" (or is it a capital U??) in the Subject: line.
