EE, in the thread "Setting up SM for HTML5" I sort advice for exactly the opposite to you, I wanted HTML5 whenever possible.

I was sent to https://www.youtube.com/html5 and set that up to send me HTML5 whenever possible.

So it would seem to me that you want the opposite, so maybe if you set that screen up to always use "Default", i.e. not HTML5, you might get what you want.
