In one of the newsgroups I frequent HTML is preferred.
I went into Account Settings | Composition and Addressing and checked to
use HTML. Under Global Composing Preferences | Send Format, I have Send
the message as formatted text (HTML)..............Selected, not "Ask
me............", but it does ask me anyway. I also added the group to
the HTML Domains, but that doesn't help.
Anyway to get rid of the "Ask me" prompt?
Which newsgroup? Almost all request plain-text.
Microsoft Answers. Using the NNTP Bridge. Basically, the newsgroup is a
back door. What is posted in the newsgroup ends up in the Web forum.
Been posting replies in MS newsgroups/forums since 2004.
Microsoft Answers is NOT a newsgroup. It appears to be a Web-based
forum. You mention an NNTP bridge. What is the NAME of the NEWSGROUP
at the NNTP end of that bridge?
You're correct. Microsoft answers is not a newsgroup. MS dropped the
newsgroups in 2009 and created MS Answers to replace them.
If you were familiar with the old MS newsgroups, they were the focal
point. Someone came up with adapting the newsgroups with what was called
the CDO for Window. It was the Web end of the newsgroups. What we have
now is exactly the opposite.
The server name if you were to set it up is simply 127.0.0.1 using Port 120.
Here is a screenshot of my folder tree. 127.0.0.1 is named Answers.

As in my reply to Burry:
The NNTP Bridge

Hm.. That aint no newsgroup.
But you sort of did answer my question.
Just my opinion:HTML in news/mail is a pain in the (xxxxx)...
(dont want to be vulgar...)
