Not really an issue, but just to let you know about it:

I had v2.22 still running on a couple of machines. When I tried "check
for updates" it was returning a message along the lines of "something is
trying to spoof your machine into downloading the upload from an invalid
source. Contact your ISP for further assistance".

I downloaded the full installer from http://www.seamonkey-project.org/
and it installed v2.40 with no problems.

Separate issue. There was a problem with handling of certificates a while back, I think it was about v. 2.26 or so. Once you got past that version, it went away.

The recent issue was that Win7/64 machines were reporting no available updates, while other operating systems were correctly offering v. 2.40.
