The red circle with the diagonal indicates a thread that you have marked "Ignore". This is done by selecting any message within the thread and selecting the "k" key on your keyboard, by right-clicking on any message within the thread and selecting "Ignore Thread" from the pull-down context menu, or by selecting any message within the thread and then selecting [Message > Ignore Thread] on the Thunderbird menu bar. Normally, a thread marked "Ignore" will no longer appear in your thread pane. You can select [View > Threads > Ignored Threads] to view ignored threads. I am not sure, but you might also have to select [View > Threads > All] if your settings have [View > Threads > Unread] or [View > Threads > Threads with Unread] since ignored threads are automatically marked "already read". The other symbols seen at the left side of the thread pane are not really icons. Among them are: * a paper clip to indicate the message has an attachment * a triangle to indicate the message is the first within a thread * a left-pointing arrow to indicate you replied the the message -- David E. Ross Republicans scream that Hillary Clinton was responsible for the tragedy in Benghazi. They conveniently forget that it was the Republican-controlled Congress that drastically cut the State Department's budget for embassy and consulate protection. _______________________________________________ support-seamonkey mailing list [email protected] https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
