Is there any way to determine the date and time when a web page was last modified?
Another way that occasionally works is to navigate to the containing folder. Nowadays, most websites will deny access, but if you're lucky, you'll get a directory listing that shows file size, date/time stamp, etc.
For example, if you're curious about <http://www.example.com/page.html>, you would look at <http://www.example.com/>.
Of course in that case, the site would probably serve <http://www.example.com/index.htm>.
Like I said, it only works occasionally. Worth a shot if you can't get it any other way.
