Oops! I almost forgot the following.
In file user.js in my profile, I inserted:
user_pref("media.autoplay.enabled", false);
// in case I forget, disables HTML5 media
Do not forget to include the semi-colon (;) at the end of the first
line. The second line is a comment to remind me why I have this in
user.js.
