The calendar has been available as an extension (Lightning) for years - it's just that it's recently been bundled with the the core installation so that you get it automatically. For earlier versions of SeaMonkey it can be downloaded and installed separately. You have to install the right version of Lightning to match the SeaMonkey version though - see <https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Calendar/Calendar_Versions#Stable_Releases>. For SeaMonkey 2.46 you want Lightning 5.1b1.

The main AMO page for Lightning at <https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/thunderbird/addon/lightning/> often shows it as not working with the installed version of SeaMonkey, but you just need to get the right version of Lightning match from the link above.
