Hi all,

Was reading mozilla.support.seamonkey and thought to myself,
"geez.. there's certainly a lot of spam.. where's the moderation.."

That's when my internal voice trailed off and said... 'oh'.

So this is a heads-up. If you see an influx of old messages.... you
can blame it on me. (or the rain, if you wish. :) )

To those affected by this, my humblest apologies.

I'll blame the rain, Edmund. :)

Perhaps we should all just learn Italian . . . .

Reading from News, I think I've seen one or two of the Italian spams in
the last week or so. I've got a filter rule in place for that stuff that
seems to be reasonably effective (including killing threads), although I
had to add one more new term. Logs indicate that there were 3 threads
killed on the 27th, and that's it.

I'm not sure what that all looks like for those reading from mailing list.

The only way that I've found to effectively filter out all of the spam
is to filter Google Groups. I filter it on news.mozilla.org so it
catches all groups - example:

[8/28/2017 4:44:27 PM] Applied filter "Injection-info: googlegroups.com"
to message from ORIANO<snip>...at 8/28/2017 3:30:13 PM ignored subthread

Unfortunately this also filters out a lot of valid posts, including some
developer posts from googlegroups, but that's ok with me.

Not okay with me. That's why I use snippets from the Subject Line.
