Today the American Express web site stopped working for me with SM 2.48
here. I see the base web site fine:
https://www.americanexpress.com/
But when I logon to my account it goes to this page:
https://global.americanexpress.com/dashboard
This page does NOT display. I have tried this both with the actual UA
and with the Firefox 51 UA and neither loads this page.
I went to Firefox itself and the web site worked properly. This is
Firefox 55.0.2 (64 bit) on linux mint 17.3 x64.
Anyone else having a problem with American Express?
Tap F12 and look at the Network tab you will see status 502 Bad Gateway
you're absolutely correct....thats what I got, so I looked it up, kinda hard to
believe that the AX website, crashed, overloaded or other very simple
explanations.
for anyone else having this problem, I cut/pasted the explanation.....

To quote the definition of 502 Bad Gateway from Wikipedia: "The server was acting as a
gateway or proxy and received an invalid response from the upstream server." There are many
other 5xx server error messages, all of which boil down to: "The server failed to fulfill an
apparently valid request." They don't tell you much about the real source of the problem.
The second thing to try is a different browser. There are plenty to choose from, and there's
no reason why you can't run two at a time. At the moment, I'm running Mozilla Firefox 22 and
Microsoft's Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 7. If a site doesn't work or looks broken in one
browser, it only takes a second or two to paste the address into the other.

as others have mentioned getting to your acct requires a different path than " MY ACCOUNT "
or simply
use FF... which works.
