It shows no unread posts, but in the right pane of Subject From ... it
shows posts underlined indicating there are unread posts.

Currently it is under News.Mozilla.org and FireFox and Seamonky groups
exhibits this phenomenon.
I had that same thing crop up in mozilla.general a short while back with
a small number of persistent underlines.
I tried deleting the msf file and then restarting Seamonkey. Now the
rebuilt msf was giving me a few hundred underlines!
I finally cleared the problem by unsubscribing and then re-subscribing
to the newsgroup. That cleared it.
