Isn't what I described above about the two Link Buttons (logIn and
Create Account)
because FoxNews Web Master MADE THEM that way ?!   No screw-up - no
problem
with my browser's or anybody elese' - RIGHT.   It is intentional. WHY ?!

When I hover over the Login button I see in the Status Bar:

http://www.foxnews.com

If I click it the resulting page has Login and Create Account buttons.
Hovering over them does not show anything in the Status Bar but the
buttons do work.

Well --- not on my system !
Where did the link go on mine ?

When I go to <http://www.foxnews.com/> and place the mouse pointer over the "Login" button, I see <http://www.foxnews.com/#> in the Status Bar.

Clicking the button takes me to the Sign In page, where I can enter an email address and password, and click the "Log In button", or the "Create Account" button, or "Forgot Password?" link.

Did you try safe mode or a test profile?

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled. If that doesn't work try Tools > Switch Profile.

Click the Manages Profiles... button when the Profile Manager opens.
Click Create Profile, give it a name, Click Finish, then click Use Profile.
