With one exception, no newsreader application -- including SeaMonkey and Thunderbird -- can change the status of newsgroup messages on a server. The exception is that some servers allow the submitter of a message to cancel that message. However, most servers today even prohibit that action because of past situations in which fraudulent cancellations were issued. Furthermore, general newsgroups (e.g., the Big-8 hierarchies: comp.*, news.*, sci.*, humanities.*, rec.*, soc.*, talk.*, and misc.*) are in a distributed system. That is, there are a number of servers, not merely one. A general newsgroup message posted to any server is quickly propagated to all the other servers. Only proprietary servers (e.g., news.mozilla.org) stand alone. -- David E. Ross <http://www.rossde.com/> First you say you do, and then you don't. And then you say you will, but then won't. You're undecided now, so what're you goin' to do? From a 1950s song That should be Donald Trump's theme song. He obviously does not understand "commitment", whether it is about policy or marriage. _______________________________________________ support-seamonkey mailing list [email protected] https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
