How can I import my BOOKMARKS from my IMAC to my Mac Lap top?
First (on my IMAC) I went to MANAGE BOOKMARKS and then EXPORT the
html file. Then I e mailed this file to my own e mail. On my wife's
Mac laptop in SM I went to MANAGE BOOKMARKS and clicked on IMPORT but
nothing happened!
Thanks
What do you mean "nothing happened"?? When you received the e-mail, did
you detach the bookmarks file and save it separately and the, when you
were is the "Manage Bookmarks" screen and you clicked "Import", did you
then point to where you saved the file??
By nothing happened I meant that I did not see ANY bookmarks at all. Initially
I e mailed a copy of bookmarks.html to my own e mail and opened it on my wife's
Mac laptop and then put this on the desktop. That's when I went to MANAGE
bookmarks to import it but it did not import ANYTHING!
Looks like backup and restore works better. I see them on the Bookmarks
Toolbar now :)
In your SeaMonkey open Bookmark Manager > Tools > Backup. Make a backup.
Repeat the email process, then in the wife's computer open the Bookmark
Manager, then use Tools > Restore, select the file and restore it.
SeaMonkey may throw an error the first time bookmarks are restored. Just
ignore it. Mine restored just fine.
Walt. Thanks. I did this and I got the warning "UNABLE TO PROCESS THE BACKUP
FILE". I tried this 3 times and the same thing. I also thought I would open up some
sites on her Mac laptop and save them but I just noticed that they are not saved! I go to
either BOOKMARK THIS PAGE or FILE BOOKMARK and nothing is saved on the laptop.
I got the same message, dismissed it and all my bookmarks were there.
Sounds like you have a computer, not a SeaMonkey problem.
