I've contributed to a couple of Kickstarter projects which
entitle me to download the Video's from such sites as
Vimeo.com. And Youtube.com as well, and other sites.

When I enter the supplied password, I'd expect I can watch
the video, but how do I actually get the video file
downloaded onto my hard drive?? Can I do it with-in
SeaMonkey, or do I need an add-on??

AFAIU, Video DownloadHelper is quite popular.

yes! +1 for using a video downloader addon; when they work they are
so much easier

It's been a while since I had one that worked tho, so if I know
url for the movie I just make a quick .html file so that I can
"right click / save link as" to download the file: <html><body> <a href=" URL goes here ">right click / save link as</a> to download </body><html>

How does that go with having to provide a password for the
site/video??

dunno, I've never had to log in to see a video. First thing I'd try is logging in and opening the download html file in another tab.

What I have seen is sites not letting you watch a video unless the proper cookies are set. For them, start the video, pause it & open the download html file in another tab

O.K., that sounds like a plan. ;-)
