Thanks for your reply. I had been doing much trouble shooting and
settled on creating this preference:

general.useragent.override

But I think your solution is better. So I will try it next.

It was very confusing to see this preference:

general.useragent.complexOverride.moodle

I could not find out what it is.

It's not easy to find out about preferences which are not there unless
you create them.

Richmond, I had a look at http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config_entries but couldn't find anything for '.complex' let alone 'Override.moodle'. ;-(
