You now have 2 versions installed. One in "Program Files (x86)" and one in

As previously noted, "these recommendations" are a well-kept secret. Just
checked the release notes, they still say install 2.49.5 over the previous
version.
I knew about it because I read it here a few weeks ago. It is . . .
unfortunate (to say the least) that this particular insignificant detail did
not make it to the release notes.
