on my pentium 3 pc i run Puppy Linux Wary 5.5. Now i try to update the standard

Generally you should try to use a version prepared for your distro.
Refer to
<https://www.seamonkey-project.org/doc/2.0/system-requirements>, in
particular:
"The following library versions (or compatible) are required:
GTK+ 2.10 or higher
GLib 2.12 or higher
Pango 1.14 or higher
X.Org 1.0 or higher
fontconfig
libstdc++ 6
"
Indications are that your distro has GLib 2.10, so you should
investigate how to upgrade either that package (and any others that are
too old) or the distro itself. Should you manage to do so you can
probably get a more recent SM version with some security issues fixed to
run.
This page <http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=109456>
looks like the easiest way to solve your problem while sticking with the
same distro version.
