I recently moved from Windows 7 to Windows 10 (fresh install on the same hardware, not an in-place upgrade since I wanted to get rid of all the crap) and now pretty much every time I open SeaMonkey mail, SeaMonkey slows down and stops responding. This never happened on Windows 7.

Anyone got any ideas why it could be happening? Something to do with the MS Antivirus thing in Windows 10?

You nailed it!

Make an exception in Windows Defender so it doesn't scan SeaMonkey mail.

I did that for my Thunderbird and it improved a lot. Sorry, I don't remember how to do it.
