Looks like you're in over the head of most everyone on the list. I've 
never hear of a similar problem. I don't believe there is a script to 
recreate the group file. What did you have in mind to do that? I 
think the information to recreate the groups file is in the several 
fields in the names table relating to householding, but it doesn't 
look easy to parse it out. Best of luck, and if you get it figured 
out, please let the list know.

I believe that the groups file must have been deleted by someone 
explicitly, although accidentally. I have never heard of FileMaker 
deleting files undetected. Much easier to imagine someone 
accidentally deleting a file.
