I have yet to see any response from anyone concerning Freenet and
firewalls. I've posted a few requests and suggestions myself. It seems
that Freenet is not interested in people who live behind firewalls,
which will undoubtedly present Freenet with a big problem as most people
at work and many with DSL and even some ISPs now have firewalls in front
of them that are no longer required. A version of Freenet that'll work
through an HTTP proxy is badly needed.
I'll say it again: Not supporting firewalls is a massive fault in
Freenet. All that has to be done to stop Freenet working is for a
governement to make firewalls mandatory on ISPs in the name of
"security". Ponder on that one.
