If you want to install a Freenet server you need a permanent
  or semi-permanent connection to internet, BUT if you want
  simply test Freenet, i.e. insert & retrieve documents, you can
  use a Freenet proxy without installing anything on your
  computer.

You can find proxies in several places, including

http://freenet.firenze.linux.it

and (I don't remember, I'm offline now)

on several places in Internet, including one Project
  server, that someone in the list maybe know & will write
  here
