Essentially, yes. A "mirror" is basically a place that stores files. Having files stored on several different mirrors achieves two things: a) the mirror servers don't get as heavily loaded, maximising your chance of being able to download the file without getting a "busy" or "try again later" message b) if you pick a mirror server closer to you the file is more likely to download quickly. > also can i mail in a donation?
