Hi, all --

I finally have a gateway box up and running, behind an ADSL modem and
little SMC router (forwarding port connections to the box at its 192.168
address, of course) in Atlanta and available as justpickone.dyndns.org,
and I *could* now run a permanent node. The question is whether or not
I'd want to.

This is a Celeron 533 running a pretty bare-bones Linux From Scratch with
a 4G IDE drive; I could cough up about 1G for the freenet datastore. My
primary concerns are

  - what do I need to get, install, configure, do, and/or incant to get
    things running?

  - how stable is this (I don't want to have to reboot the box every day
    or the like)?

  - what will this do to my connection, and how can I keep it from taking
    over my bandwidth?

  - is there anything else I should know?

TIA & HAND & I'd love to help out :-)

:-D
