That's nothing! When freenet-unstable was going through a particularly rough 
patch a month or two back I was getting half-gig logfiles (and nearly 3,000 
threads) after just a few hours uptime...

I suppose you could stuff the log into a fifo connected to 'bzip2 -c9 > 
freenet.log.bz2' or something, to help keep the size down ;-)

(I did seriously consider that as an option when it was producing real 
filesystem-busters, but I did some back-of-envelope calculations and found 
that, at the rate the file was growing, I'd have to have a dedicated "bzip2 
server" otherwise the node would get CPU-starved!)
