No.  Your browser won't recognize those weird SSK@ or CHK@ or whatever 
addresses, and it will just tell you that it can't resolve the name, and 
maybe go off and try to institute an automatic search if your browser likes 
to do that sort of thing.

If you can reach it when freenet is not running, then it is most assurebly not 
a freesite.

Or freenet is running and you don't realize it.

Note that if you can connect to   http://127.0.0.1:8888

at all then freenet must be running, or some other web server must be running 
locally.
