Does it know what its external IP address is? If not, it will not work very well i.e. it will not get external traffic and therefore will not learn quickly (well, quicker) where things are.
How can one find out what freenet thinks its IP address is?
The system my freenet node runs on is dual hosted. (soon it will even have three interfaces.) It can actually reach the internet via both its interfaces, but only receive incoming connections from the internet on one.
