Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere. I've been aware of Freenet for
6 or 7 months now, even have a Paypal subscription to support the project, but
haven't had a chance to actually use it until now. Over the weekend I set up
a permanent node that I hope to leave up indefinitely. I've read the FAQ and
through some of the archives and couldn't work through this problem.

I've got a small LAN behind a firewall on a cable modem. Here's the layout.

cable (internet)
 |
1.2.3.4
firewall
192.168.1.1
 |
hub----Linux server with Freenet 192.168.1.10
 |
192.168.1.4
wireless bridge
10.0.0.1
 |
10.0.0.2 ... 10.0.0.5
several laptops and desktops

The IP addressed assigned by my ISP is 1.2.3.4
I have the LAN side of my firewall set to 192.168.1.1
The server with Freenet is at 192.168.1.10
The WAN side of my wireless bridge is at 192.168.1.4
The LAN side of my wireless bridge is at 10.0.0.1
The (Windows) laptop I'm using now is at 10.0.0.2

I had no trouble getting the firewall to do the appropriate port forwarding to
the server.

Here's the problem. When I sit at my Linux server, fire up Mozilla, and go to
http://127.0.0.1:8888/ or http://192.168.1.10:8888/ Freenet works just fine.

When I sit at my laptop and try http://192.168.1.10:8888/ nothing happens.

My freenet.conf file includes

mainport.allowedHosts=*
mainport.bindAddress=*

which I thought would allow me to browse my Freenet node from another computer.

What do I need to do to get this to work?

Thanks in advance.
