Stable build 5088 is now available. The snapshots have been updated.
Please upgrade ASAP, unless you are using the unstable branch. You can
do this on Windows by using the update option on the start menu. On
Linux, OS/X etc, you can update by using the update.sh script (and
restart the node). You can alternatively shut down your node and
download http://freenetproject.org/snapshots/freenet-latest.jar over
your existing freenet.jar, then restart your node.

If your PC's CPU is of the following types, you should get the new
freenet-ext.jar from http://freenetproject.org/snapshots/freenet-ext.jar
. The update.sh script should do this for you, IF it is a recent
version. Older ones won't, so watch it to see what it does, or just get
the jar. I don't know whether the wininstaller update option will get
it. Anyway, the following CPU types have native optimizations in this
build with the new freenet-ext.jar, on Windows and Linux:
Intel Pentium (original)
Intel Pentium MMX
AMD K6
AMD K6-2
AMD K6-3

Also update your freenet-ext.jar if you have had error messages
involving libgcc_s on linux.

Anyway, changes:
* Fixed a serious compatibility bug between 5084 and 5087, involving
  rate limiting. The result was that 5084 nodes would send unlimited
  numbers of queries to 5087 nodes.
* Add native library support (dependant on downloading a new
  freenet-ext.jar) for the above architectures. This should result in a
  significant reduction in CPU usage for a given traffic level on those
  architectures.
* Reduce memory usage related to NativeBigInteger's.
* Stats fix related to request interval.
* Reduce CPU usage from the logger, by means of caching more and
  flushing only when the queue is empty, on the logfile writer thread.
* Fix a NullPointerException.
* Comments, logging, etc.
