I installed java, and run sh start-freenet.sh. I can use the interface, and i can also browse something. BUT, my freenet.conf file contains only 2 lines, and no conf questions where asked when at start-up. I remember I had the same problem when some months ago I tryed to install freenet, but I don't remember the solution....
Anyway, the output:
localhost:/hdb/.freenet# sh start-freenet.sh
Detected freenet-ext.jar

Sun java detected.
Sun Java 1.4.2 detected.
